Practitioners who have completed the UKHab Intermediate training courses and wish to extend their knowledge of the range of UKHab habitats, the habitat types used in the Statutory Biodiversity Metric and the relationship between the systems.
Yes. Participants will have some experience of using UKHab and extracting data into the Biodiversity Metric.
An extensive range of UKHab primary and secondary codes will be covered, focusing on identifying and differentiating categories that are sometimes confused. The relationship between all Biodiversity metric habitats, except intertidal and lake types, and the equivalent UKHab habitats will be described. The course gives the opportunity to explore the nuances of habitat identification and mapping in more detail than other UKHab courses.
This online course runs over two days. Each day consists of a 3-hour session starting at 10 a.m. Between the two sessions, participants will be asked to complete a short task, which should take about an hour.
