Practitioners who have completed the UKHab Intermediate training courses and wish to deepen their knowledge of wetland habitats across the UK and how to describe and map them.
Yes. Participants will have some experience of using UKHab and be aware of the fundamental features of wetlands.
The UKHab Version 2.0 (2023) primary (to Level 5) and secondary codes relating to wetlands are described in detail. Mapping protocols and field methodologies for recording these features are explained. Participants are asked to undertake some identification and mapping on screen using the UKHab coding system and field key. The course allows the exploration of these important habitats in much more detail than is possible in other UKHab courses.
This online course runs over two days. Each day consists of a 3-hour session starting at 10 a.m. Between the two sessions, participants will be asked to complete a short task, which should take about an hour.
